A rating was never meant to be the objective of sustainability. It has become one all the same: the measure a building is held to account by, and the first thing a client asks for. The intent behind it, a building that uses less, a site that looks after its water, is easily lost on the way.
LeafTracker is built for the smaller project, where cost decides what is attempted. It takes a team through certification with every criterion explained in plain language, what it is for as well as what it scores, so the effort goes to what matters for the building rather than to the metrics. A ten-person firm runs it as easily as a listed developer.
